Professional Insulation Contractors Blowing In Cellulose Insulation Into a SE Michigan Attic
I called several contractors, and Kearns came out right away. Then gave me a great price, lower than I was expecting. I was super impressed with the work, materials, and how they went above and beyond to do a great job. I highly recommend Kearns. I am thankful and appreciate their help.

Kearns Brothers is a great company to work with. We have used them several times over the years. We had them put a new roof on our house, and then later that year had them install gutter leaf guards. When we needed gutters on a rental unit we own, I tried the companies advertising low prices on TV, and couldn't get them (even though they are the factory) to even give me a quote without both me and my wife being there. I called Chuck at Kearns, and had a quote the next day without all of the game playing. The job was done right at a fair price and i never even had to show up at the site. Last year we had to have the wood trim around our front bay windows replaced. Again, Kearns came through, and re-did everything using James Hardie cement board. It looks great.and will never rot like the wood did. This was an interesting job because we decided late in the year to do the work and it ended up having to wait for a few winter months before the work could be done. Chuck kept us informed of the work schedule, and got our job done as soon as weather permitted. i'm sure we will use Kearns again in the future. Highly recommended.

Gary, I just wanted to take a few minutes and share with you how thrilled my wife and I are with our new roof. It looks great, and we had a number of neighbors stop us this weekend to comment on how great it looks. Thanks so much!

Attic and wall insulation is an important part of your home’s safety, security and energy envelope.

When estimating a new roof, we even inspect your attic for existing insulation value. If needed, we will recommend only the necessary amount of blown-in cellulose insulation required to bring the insulation R-value to building code requirements. Any additional insulation will aid in the comfort level, energy efficiency and lower heating and cooling bills. Additionally, when adding blown in cellulose insulation and by making sure that building code ventilation requirements are adhered to, the integrity, longevity and security of the roof decking is assured.

On older homes, built prior to 1969, exterior walls had limited insulation resulting. We can even install blown-in insulation in brick walls and existing vinyl or aluminum siding.

Why we use cellulose insulation

Cellulose insulation is primarily composed of shredded, recycled newspaper together with small amounts of cardboard. It has a fluffy consistency and can be sprayed — damp or dry — into wall cavities and attics. Treated with boric acid, cellulose insulation is a natural insect repellent, mold inhibitor, and fire retardant.

For the health conscious, blown cellulose is the safe choice. While producing some dust during installation, it contains NO CANCER CAUSING FIBERS. It is safe for both installers and homeowners!

For the environmentally conscious, cellulose insulation is the smart choice as it recycles many tons of newspaper that would otherwise be taking up space in landfills.
